Planning a day at the beach or just visiting Aiguablava is always a good idea. This beach, close to Begur, has become a popular destination. It’s not surprising, as the colour of the water makes you feel like you’re in the Caribbean.
It’s a small but lovely beach, so don’t be surprised if you’re not the only one planning to spend a few hours soaking up the sun. A word of advice from me to you: come prepared. On a sunny day, you’re going to want a glass of wine and some fish in the middle of the day. And what better place to do that than at Toc Al Mar?
Tapas restaurant Toc Al Mar
This tapas restaurant has the best views of the famous Aiguablava beach, near Begur. Lunch with a view of the blue sea and the warm sun still burning on your skin. In my opinion, that’s the real holiday feeling. Of course, such a beautiful place wouldn’t be perfect if the food wasn’t of a good quality. Well, I can tell you that the food here is very good.
A simple cuisine with a wide range of fish and meat dishes, as well as typical Catalan dishes like escalivada with goat cheese. A beach bar with spectacular views and, of course, fresh fish caught the same day. For once, forget about what you have to pay, because the overall experience will make it all worth your while.
Favorite dishes from the menu
What dishes are worth trying? The sardines are well seasoned and served on a small grill pan. The mussels are also tasty – order some bread with tomato on the side to dip in the sauce. Delicious. Octopus (pulpo) is an ultimate favourite, fresh and full of flavour.
Take your time, relax with your wine and enjoy this place. Finish your lunch with one of the delicious desserts on offer and stay until the evening sun sets. Aiguablava is known as a unique place to enjoy the sunset!
